Dr. Emirhan Altunkaya is an academic, executive education professional and advisor working at the intersection of academia and business. He is a faculty member in the Department of International Relations at Galatasaray University and works with BMI Business School in the fields of executive development, leadership and corporate learning.

He holds a BA in International Relations from Galatasaray University and completed his graduate studies at Galatasaray University and Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University. He received his PhD in International Relations from Middle East Technical University (METU). During his doctoral studies, he was awarded a Fulbright scholarship and joined New York University (NYU) as a visiting researcher, where he was involved in both research and teaching.

His academic interests extend across international relations, foreign policy, international political economy, geoeconomics, international economics, strategy and management. His work explores how shifts in the global economic and geopolitical landscape shape states, businesses and leaders, bridging academic perspectives with contemporary questions of strategy, leadership and management.

Alongside his academic career, Dr. Altunkaya designs and leads executive development initiatives, leadership programs and corporate academies for leading organizations in Türkiye. He is also actively involved in international executive education and academic collaborations with Sorbonne Business School, the London School of Economics (LSE), and other leading European business schools.

As an advisor, he works with organizations and senior executives on leadership and organizational development, strategy, organizational transformation and management capability. Bringing together academic insight and management practice, he contributes to projects addressing organizations’ strategic priorities through the lenses of leadership, organizational development and executive capability, serving in roles including advisor, program director and facilitator.

Dr. Altunkaya is also a frequent speaker, moderator and facilitator at conferences, executive forums and business events. He hosts C-Level on CNBC-e, where he engages with leading senior executives from Türkiye’s business community in conversations on leadership, strategy, transformation and the future of business.

Beyond his academic and professional work, Dr. Altunkaya is actively engaged in arts and culture. He is the founder of Istanbul Fringe Festival, established in 2019, and a co-founder of Sarı Sandalye theatre collective. His artistic practice spans acting, directing and research, with a particular interest in performing arts, intercultural exchange and independent artistic production.
